Ihe case was a length v one and involved the sum of £911 0/1 covering defalcations over a period of two years Over-expenditure of a vote (\\ Inch hart been reduced without the knowledge of the accused) eventually led to inquiries by the Director of Public Works, and a subsequent audit revealed defalcations covered by f 16 false transactions and manipulation of vouchers. His Honor, in passing sentence said that this was a very bad case as the accused had made no attempt at restitution and had tried to involve two of his superior officers. He was sentenced to live vears" nenai servitude.
