Lance-Corporal Leonard Cecil Smith, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Smith, 49, First Avenue, Kingsland, is reported killed in action. Prior to his departure overseas in September, 1941, he was District Cubmaster in the Boy Scouts, Auckland area, and took an active part in the activities of the Young Men s Bible Class Movement. Lance-Corporal Smith was an enthusiastic member of the Wesley Harrier Club.
