CUP PRESENTED
A presentation was made by* Princess Te Puea during the Eruini Maori Girls' basketball team dance at the Trades Hall on Saturday night, of the intermediate cup won by them this year. In introducing the Princess Mr. K. Newton said that she was well known for her activities for the Red Cross. Her work had been recognised by His Majesty, who conferred upon her the Order of the British Empire. Miss J. Hansen, captain, was then called and to her the princess handed the cup, expressing herself in these few words: "You are carrying on the good work of your brothers and sweethearts in the Middle East, and making a name for our Maori people."
