SITE AT REMUERA
INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL
GRANT MADE BY CABINET
Advice has been received bv Mr. \V. P. Endean. M.P., that Cabinet has approved of a grant for the purchase of land at Remuera. as a site for an intermediate school, which it is hoped to erect at some future time.
The Auckland Education Board has in view the purchase of an area of approximately seven acres in Green Lane Road, near the racecourse. A considerable portion of the area is level, and additional access can he obtained from other streets in the locality. It is proposed to build a modern intermediate school to accommodate 600 pupils, a building similar in design to the Onchunga and Pasadena Intermediate Schools. The pupils will be from the Remuera, Meadowbank, Ellerslie and Cornwall Park Schools.
The chairman of the board, Mr. W. J. Campbell, said this morning that a policy had been adopted to get sites for intermediate schools in various suburban districts, so that later a start could be made to provide buildings to cater for the whole of the Auckland metropolitan area.
