SOLD SLY GROG

MAORI SENT TO GAOL. Appearing on summons in the Police Court to-day, John Tahu Andrews (Mr. Dickson), a Maori, pleaded guilty to a charge of selling liquor without a license. Sub-Inspector Joyce said a constable saw Andrews taking a carton of liquor to a taxi in Pitt Street, on June 19. The constable purchased six bottles of beer from Andrews.

Sentence of one month's imprisonment was passed by Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M.
