NO SUCCESS
TRADE DELEGATION MOVE OWNERS DECLINE TO ACT ISpecial) HUNTLY, this day. There were no further developments in the situation at Huntfy early this afternoon. Most of the men were occupied with the arrangements being made with the police for the transference of the prisoners to whatever prison they are being assigned. There is a prospect that the men will not leave Huntly before to-morrow. The proposed move by the Auckland Trades Council delegation apparently failed, or was abandoned. Messrs. Craig and Stanley spent but a short time here this morning, and, after being in communication with Wellington, they returned to Auckland. There are prospects, however, that a further move will be made by the Mayor of Huntly, Mr. George Smith, and the Mayor of Ngaruawahia, Mr. Eyre, who are meeting the executive of the Northern Miners' Union at 3 p.m. to-day. The move made by Mr. W. J. King, local representative of the Pukemiro mine, to secure a settlement from the owners' side was also a failure. It was revealed following the Court session that the Coal Owners' Association had telegraphed Mr. King, declining any move.
