ITALIAN PLANE DOWN
Rec. 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 23. An Empire fighter pilot destroyed an Italian bomber which crashed in flames near* a village on the coast of Cyprus, says a message from Nicosia, It is the first Axis plane to be shot down over Cyprus.
