1.L.0. CONFERENCE

£1793 GRAND QUESTIONED

'By Telegraphs—Parliamentary Reporter.)

WELLINGTON,this" day

A grant of £1793 to cover the expenses of delegates to the International Labour Organisation Conference at New York was questioned by Sir Alfred Ransom (Opposition, Pahiatua) during the discussion of the Supplementary Estimates in the House of Representatives. Sir Alfred said the grant was not justified and should be a direct charge on the trade unions concerned.

The deputy-Leader of the House. Mr. Sullivan, said there was nothing new in this vote, as the Government was following the procedure of previous Governments in paying the expenses of all delegates to this conference.
