PAPAKURA CEREMONY
A recreation hut was opened at Papakura last evening by the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. J. A. C. Alium, in the presence of about 200 guests. The gathering was presided over by Mr. S. Evans. Mayor of Papakura. and among the speakers were: Mr. Grierson. Mayor of Pukekohe, Mr. F. Parker, Colonel Turnbull and Lieutenant-Colonel Moore. The hut has been litted with a billiards table, writing tables and various games. A piano has been lent for the duration of the war by the Papakura Rugby League Club. The hut will be run by the ladies of the district. ■ ■
