CAREER OF SIR MODRED
I Many good horses have figured as the winner of the Timaru Cup, and it is interesting to recall that Sir Modred. who won in 1881, was sent to America at the close of his racing career and became one of the most successful sires in the States. He was bought by Mr. J. B. Haggin, of tne Rancho del Paso Stud, where over 400 mares formed the largest collection in the world.
