CLUB MEETINGS
A highly satisfactory year of progress was disclosed in the annual report and balance sheet Dresented at the annual meeting of the Remuera Kx-Servicemen's Social Club over which Mr. \V. Donald presided. The election of office-bearers resulted:—Patron, Mr. W. P. Fndean, M.P.; president. Mr. W. Donald; secretary, Mr. F. E. Watson: treasurer, Mr. J. A. Young; committee, Messrs. H. R. Chermside, H. Sunley, J. Cox, N. C. Pierce (ex-officio), S. N. Bain and H. J. Ligard.
The past year's activities of the Mount Albert Ex-Servicemen's Club, in which new and spacious premises have been taken over as a club room and the equipping of which has been carried out at a cost of several hundred pounds, were outlined in the report to the annual meeting this week and brought out much favourable comment.
The officers for the year were elected as follow:—Patrons. Lieu-tenant-Colonel Harold Pettit and Major J. Aitken Paterson; president, Mr. H. Jenkins; active-vice-presi-dents, Messrs. Arthur Harrison. J. P. MacFarlane and G. A. Pearson; executive, Messrs. A. H. Mennie R' Graham. W. Cassev, A. Ellesdon, A. Haycock; assistant secretarytreasurer, Mr. H. J. Clark; honorary auditors. Messrs. H. F. Spencer and R. Graham; chaplain, Rev. G. E. Moreton.
Appreciative reference to the service of the retiring secretary, Mr. A. W. Walker, whose work had been particularly onerous during the vear. was made by several of those present.
