MR. CHURCHILL SPEAKS
"What is Hitler leaving behind him? He leaves behind him a Europe starved and in chains; a Europe in which his execution squads are busy in a dozen countries every day; a Europe which has learned to hate the Nazi enemv as no enemy has ever been hated in the recorded history of mankind; a Europe burning for revolt." Transfixed by the brutal nails of agony and despair—to-day—this very Europe lies bleeding upon a cross, a twisted cross, whose sinister shadow hangs threateningly over the world, and whose outline was first imprinted upon the flaming heavens of the Third Reich—the swastika.
This dread emblem of a thousand tears must surely fade Into oblivion, from whence it came. For right prevails, and, though the night be long. Some smiling dawn vrill break in Freedom's name. I bid you lift your eyes towards the sun, unflinching In your cause. We weep not now alone. Though spring has gone from Crete —and Greece—and France, It will return, and every tear atone. Keep fatth vrith. those who marched, and for their ideals died. They were the brave and valiant; the good, &nd when this dark swastika's 1 shadow fades Let us emerge in stronger brotherhood. Mavis E. Hills.
