DEARER MILK SHAKES
As a sequel to sugar rationing, increased price of milk during the winter months, and a probable shortage of syrup-flavouring, the Confectionery , Cake and Dairy Association, Incorporated, has decided to increase the price of standard milk shakes by one penny to sd.
.The president' of the association, Mr. C. T Stretton, said that the milk bars and confectionerv shops were still entitled to sell the chinks at the oldiate of 4d, but the confectioners had decided that it was necesS ? to ,, the price of the standard drink which, in most cases was made with half a pint of milk and one pennyworth each of flavouring and malt. The retail price of bread was also discussed at a meeting, and a deputation was appointed to wait on the master bakers.
