NATIONAL BANKS FIRMER Business was almost halted on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day, only one sale being reported at two calls, i Buying support, however, remained steady for most stocks. National Banks of New Zealand were firmer with the market between £1 17/ and £1 17/9, and sellers were quoting for Unions and Australasias. National Timber's dividend was apparently anticipated since the market showed little change. Offerings of gilt-edged were again small.
