NEW METHOD FOUND
MAGNESIUM EXTRACTION
P.A.)
WELLINGTON, this day.
A new method for the extraction of magnesium (essential in making incendiary bombs) which is likely to have an important bearing on the contribution of Canada to the mineral resources of the Allies has been discovered by a young Montreal scientist, states a communication received by the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire. So much importance is attached to the discovery that the United States Government has asked for special permission to use the process and both in the United States and Canada plans are being established to apply the discovery on a commercial scale. Production is expected to begin by midsummer.
