SALVAGE CONTROLLER
OTAGO MAN APPOINTED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
The Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan, to-night announced the appointment as Controller of Salvage of Mr. J. B. Lymburm, who was previously employed by the Dunedin Engineering and Steel Company, Limited.
Mr. Sullivan said the hulls of several ships were being broken up in order to salvage the greatest possible tonnage of usable steel plate in sections, and the Waipori pipe line in Otago was being steadily dismantled. This work, together with other major schemes for salvage on a national basis, would be under the supervision of Mr. Lymburm.
The Minister expressed appreciation of the splendid work being done by the National Council for the Reclamation ot-Waste Material, and by provincial and district councils, which would continue their activities and have the assistance of the controller.
