League Teams Are Amalgamated For Wartime Competition
The Auckland Rugby League Control Board on Saturday evening was faced with the task of deciding the personnel of the senior grade. Amalgamation was agreed to In several cases, so that the identity of the clubs will not be lost during wartime competition. Following along the policy announced recently to keep the standard as high as possible, it was decided to rearrange the clubs as follows:—North Shore join Marlst, City and Otahuhu, and Mount Albert link up with Newton. Following is the names of the clubs admitted:—Manukau, Richmond, Ponsonby; North Shore-Marist (amalgamate): Newton and Mount Albert, City and Otahuhu.
