WOMEN'S APPAREL

U.S. WARTIME CURTAILMENTS Rec. noon WASHINGTON, April 8. The War Production Board has decreed that dresses may be shorter or tighter, but neither longer nor fuller than they are now worn. In a long list of specifications covering the future manufacture of women's apparel such frills as French cuffs, balloon sleeves and woollen patch pockets will be eliminated entirely. The decree emphasises that there is no intention of freezing styles. The restrictions regarding wool will be effective immediately.
