CHILDREN IN TRAMS
The trams are run as a business for profit only, and evervone paving the legal fare has the anouestionable right of equality. Bv all standards °l chivalry and humanitv children snoJJld have first preference of seats. >\hat a horrible sight to-dav to see children sitting on their seats in trepidation, then jumping up and vacating their own seats for vigorous adults. Thank goodness ther _ e . ,j» re very few men who rob a child of its lawful seat tr-rebv forcing it into the aisle to be pushed and jolted around. It is up to us to see that any iniquitous by-laws are not framed that encroach upon the freedom of children and create in them early in life a verv pronounced inferiority complex. GEORGE S. WARDLE.
