AUCKLAND CHANGES

COLONEL BREMNER'S POST Formerly officer commanding tbe Northern Field Force, Colonel D. E. Bremner, M.C., New Zealand Staff Corps, has been appointed to the command of a brigade in the Northern Military District. Colonel R. A. Row, D.5.0., New Zealand Staff Corps, has resumed command of the Field Force after being detached for special duty overseas. Since the outbreak of war Colonel Bremner has held several appointments in the Northern Military District. He has been commandant of the district school at Narrow Neck and General Staff Officer (first grade) at district headquarters. Colonel Bremner. who graduated from the staff college in England at the close of the Great War has, with Colonel Row, been engaged on instructional duties at the command and staff college at Palmerston North since its opening darly last month. Captain D. E. Trevarthen has relinquished the post of general staff officer (third grade) of the Northern Field Force on being appointed general staff officer (second grade) of the Northern Military District, and has been promoted to major. Until his appointment to the New Zealand Temporary Staff last year Major Trevarthen served as an officer in the Waikato Regiment since 1923. Captain R. H. Toy, of the Ist Field Company of Engineers, has been appointed to command the 22nd Company. Lieutenants T. H. C. Caughey, H. G. St. V. Beechey and M. A. Pattison, of the Ist Battalion, Auckland Regiment, have been promoted as captain.
