MR. SYDNEY TOMBS
The death has occurred in the city of Mr. Sydney Tombs, aged 59, who a pioneer of the motor trade in the Waikato and also introduced the first motion picture houses into Hamllton. At various times he owned controlling interests in theatres in Hamilton and Te Awamutu. Mr Tombs was a member of the Hamilton Borough Council from 1917 to 1920. He was keenly interested in musical and theatrical activities and was president of the Hamilton Operatic Society besides being conductor for the society. He is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters.
