BAKER BEFORE COURT
MAX SLAUGHTER ALLEGED (P.A.) | WELLINGTON, Monday. Said jby counsel to have arisen from a street fracas, a charge of unlawfully killing Clinton Reginald Duck, thereby committing manslaughter, was made in the Magistrate's Court against Thomas William Hanna (29), a baker, and he was remanded by Mr. J. L. Stou*, S.M., for a week. The offence was alleged to have been committed on or about December 19 and Hanna was arrested yesterday by Detectives Urquhart and Waller. In applying for a remand Detective-Sergeant W. 'McLennan said a further remand would then be necessary. Mr. W. P. Rollings, on Hanna's behalf, agreed to a remand and asked for bail. He said accused was a married man with two children and had never previously been before the Count. Bail was refused.
