"TRUST M. SALAZAR"
In your issue of Saturday an article says we can "trust Salazar." How much Europe has to hope from this source can be seen from the words of the great Salazar himselL He stated, "Now, obviously, our dictatorship is similar to the Fascist dictatorship in its strengthening of authority, in the war, which it declares on certain principles. . . We are anti-parliamentarians, antidemocrats, anti-Liberals, and we are determined to establish a Corporate State . . . To believe that the liberty of the people is linked to democracy or parliamentarianism is to be blind to the evidence the political and social life of every period of history affords." Yes, I think we can "trust Salazar" \ . .to lead any foolish enough to follow him right into the Fascist camp. Hi* every connection, political, religious or traditional, is unmistakably on the Fascist side. E.W.F.
