WELLSFORD NEED
MATERNITY NURSING
COMMITTEE TO REPORT
Maternity nursing in the Wellsford district was discussed at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board last evening.
The National Council of Women wrote stating that the district covered the boundaries both of the Kaipara and Auckland Hospital Boards, and suggested co-operation between the Kaipara and Auckland Boards in establishing a maternity home in the Wellsford district. From November 1, 1940, to October 31, 1941, 84 Wellsford cases were treated at Warkworth, and in that time the Health Department had paid the local doctors £235 for mileage. The proposal was referred to the maternity services committee for report.
