Can you inform me as to the right or tenants to sub-let State houses. understood this practice «3i prohibited. it has come to my knowledge that tenants of State bouses. especially at Rotorua. are sub-lettirtt their houses for a month S!X 31 about four time* the normal rent. In many cases the J? nanls take no care of the houses i occupy only for a holiday and teei that the fact of paying so much tney are under no obligation to treat the houses with care. In man* 9 ases the profit made by sub-letting ,s .n? - t'y tenants occupying vrellpaid .lobs. Are these practises endorsed by the Department"' INTERESTED-
