Mr. A. H. Johnstone, K.C., will travel to Wellington by the Limited express to-night. Mr. H. A. Boucher, United States Consul in Auckland, left for Wellington last night. Group-Captain M. W. Buckley, M.8.E., arrived in Auckland from the south this morning. Sir Donald McGavin, D.5.0., who has been visiting Auckland, will return to Wellington to-night. Mr. J. G. Ingram, of Nelson, has been appointed motor vehicle controller for the Nelson districtMr. R. D. Vincent, who has been city paymaster of Christchurch for the past 22 years, has retired. Mr. Justice Callan left this afternoon for Wellington, where he will be occupied for a fortnight with work of the Aliens' Tribunal. Messrs. G. B. Osmond and A. D. Thomson left yesterday afternoon for Wellington to attend the annual mec.in- of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers. Professor Sir John Madsen, professor of electrical engineering at Sydney University, who was knighted in the King's Birthday Honours last June, will arrive at Auckland by the Pacific Clipper, due on Monday.
