ANOTHER TRIAL
AUCKLAND BLACKOUT NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT Auckland's third blackout trial I will be held on Wednesday evening next between 8.50 and 9.30. The Mayor, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, who is chief warden of the Emergency Precautions Service, said today that every endeavour would be made to make the trial as effective as possible, and it would be carried out on the same lines as the two previous trials. Wardens and members of the technical personnel would be on duty, and the former would patrol to see that the regulations were carried out from the time that the warning signal was given at 8.50 until the all clear signals at 9.30. During the blackout it would be necessary for householders to take steps to see that no lights were visible from outside houses, and all vehicular traffic would be requested to stop and remain stationary during the trial.
