Long Wait For Dividend At Napier
(0.C.) NAPIER, Sunday. Following the running of the Taradale Hack Handlcap,.-.the last race at Napier Park yesterday, the owner of Kurrawong, the second horse, entered a protest against the winner, Ex-Pupil, alleging interference on the part of R. Marsh, the rider of Ex-Pupil. After the judicial committee had heard evidence and considered the case for about two hours, the appeal was disallowed and the judge's placlngs confirmed. As Ex-Pupil was a well-supported favourite, a good many people were concerned in the delay in paying out dividends, and the protracted nature of the judicial proceedings caused a great deal of hostile comment.
