CHINESE FINED £20
OXEHUNGA PROSECUTIONS
A visit by the police to a shed in a garden at Mangere last Thursday resulted in a Chinese, Ah Chong. being fined on a charge of opium smoking in the Onehunga Police Court to-day by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M. Three Chinese were found in the shed. The other two, Kew Mong and Wong Sun, occupiers of the shed, denied a charge of assisting in the management of a house whei*e opium was smoked.
Ah Chong was fined £20 and costs. The charges against the other two were dismissed, the magistrate holding that there was insufficient evidence.
