WINTER SAILING
The Devonport Yacht Club held two race* on Saturday for the Frostbite class. There was a fresh sou'-west breeze, which Rave the boats a good test on and off the wind. When gybing round the mark off the clubhouse on completion of the first round Jennifer capsized, and several others carried away gear. First Race.—ln ihe first race the elapsed times were:—Solace. 30m 355; Aatea. 30m 435; Mgatea, 30m 50s; Scamper. 31m 30s; Rarawa. 32m ss; Eclipse. 33m 325; TauKiri. 32m 40s; Ideal. 35m 345; Scud. 36m fls. Century, which finished at 30m Is. reported touching a mark. Result: Aotea, lm (R. cordes), 1; Ngatea, 2',fern (W. Todd). 2; Eclipse. 2m 30s (J. Pov-y), 3; Taukirt. 2m 20a (S. Nicholas). 4. Second Race.—'The second race started at 4 p.m. over the same course, all boats going off scratch. Result:—Eclipse. 37m 35s (J. Brooke). 1; Solace. 38m 15s (S. Mason). 2; Rarawa. 39m 2s. (R. Hunt). 3: Ngatea. 4«m 20s (C. H. Hoverd). 4. Messrs. M. WlUetts and S. Mason were in charge.
