BEACH ROAD PROJECT
The statement was made at a meeting of the Waitemata County Council yesterday that reconstruction work on the beach road in the Takapuna riding between Castor Bay and Campbell's Bay was being held up through the refusal of the Main Highways Board in Wellington to subsidise a loan raised by the council for the purpose.
The council gave authority to Mr. Gibson and the engineer to negotiate the matter and, if necessary, to go to Wellington. In the meantime it was decided to seek the support of the member for the district
