SELECT COMMITTEE
DETERIORATED LANDS (Br Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) , WELLINGTON, this day. A select committee to go into the question of finding the best means in the national interest of bringing back into production the deteriorated or marginal lands of the Dominion was set up before Parliament adjourned yesterday. The committee, which consists of Messrs. Broadfoot (National, Waitomo), Goosman (National, Waikato), Kidd (National. .Waitaki), Roberts (Government, Wairarapa), Robertson (Government, Masterton), Tirikatene (Government, Southern Maori), Thorn (Government. Thames) and Williams (Government, Kaiapoi) was given leave to sit during the recess and for 28 Says after the commencement of Sext session.
