KING PETER'S BIRTHDAY
There vrere a number of callers, including members of the Yugoslav community and representatives of the various consulates in Auckland, at the Yugoslav Consulate at the Ferry Buildincs t'~> offer their felicitations on the occasion of the eighteenth birthday of King Peter IL The visitors were received by the Yugoslav Consul. M. J. M. Totich. and the health of the voting king was toasted. The Mayor, Mr. J. A. C. Allum, on behalf of the people of Auckland, extended greetings to the king and expressed sympathy for him and the Yugoslav people in the disaster which" had overtaken, them. He hoped that Yugoslavia, with other nations, would soon be freed. M. Totich. in reply, assured the gathering that Yugoslavia was solidly behind the- Allies. and would carry on the fight t<> the end. The Yugoslav flag was fnv.n over the Ferry Buildings in honour of the occasion. The following cablegram was sent by M. Totich to the Yugoslav Minister in London: " The Yugoslav cole®} here, whom I join, hc-rr- your Excel" » lency to convey to His Majesty KiUS Peter 11. our ioval g.-.od wishes and congratulations 'nr.
