COURSE AT WAIOURU
OFFICERS SELECTED
Provisionally selected for the new Army Tank Brigade of the Expeditionary Force are 14 officers and six warrant officers and non-commis-sioned officers from the Northern Military District. Subject to their being fit for overseas service they will report at Waiouru military camp on September 17 to undergo a trial course. The following have been chosen.
Auckland Area.—Major J. R. Turnbull (Ist Field Regiment, Artillery) as captain; Lieutenants C. S. C. Hughes (Ist Field Regiment). R. D. Horton, G. O. Wiles. J. M. Ewen, S. R. Young (9th Heavy Regiment), C. P. Crespin (38th Battery). G. M. Dwver (2nd Battalion. Auckland Regiment) as second-lieutenants; W. 0.11. Chiswell and Sergeant \Y. Heptinstall (9th Heavy Regiment) as temporary sergeants.
Paeroa Area.—Captain M. H. Aldred (Auckland-East Coast Mounted Rifles) as lieutenant; Lieutenant E. G. Dodd (Auckland-East Coast Mounted Rifles) as second-lieutenant: W. 0.1 I. D. M. Morice (Auckland-East Coast Mounted Rifles) as temporary sergeant.
Whangarei Area.—Captain K. Haslett (North Auckland Regiment) as lieutenant; Lieutenant R. E. Johnson (North Auckland Mounted Rifles) as second-lieutenant; StaffSergeant D. J. Fairley (North Auckland Mounted Rifles) as temporary sergeant.
Hamilton Area.—Major S. J. Wright (Waikato Mounted Rifles) as captain; Lieutenant S. H. Haycock (Waikato Mounted Rifles) as secondlieutenant; Squadron Sergeant-Major L. J. W. Smith ("Waikato Mounted Rifles) and Battery Sergeant-Major D. W. Cave (7th Medium Batterv) as temporary sergeants.
