GOODS TRAIN" DERAILED

When five wagons on a through Dunedin-Christchurch goods train were derailed at Bankside. near Rakaia, shortly aiter 10 o'clock this morning, the only sufferers were sixfarm horses, which were dumped heavily as the truck in which tnev were travelling overturned.
It was necessary to transfer tho passengers on the midday express south to a special train from Ashburton, which too* the travellers as far as Timaru. It is expected tha» the line will be clear before the un express passes through to-night.
