EFFORT TO SAVE TREE
As a result of a misunderstanding, a paragraph was published under the above heading in last night's Star stating that the Titirangi Beautifying Society had sent a telegram to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Parry, asking him to restrain the Waitemata County Council from its intention of cutting down an ancient puriri tree near the Titirangi post office. The president of the society, Mr. R. A. Nicolas, stated to-day that no representation had been made to i the Minister as the council had no intention of cutting down the tree.
