CITY BUILDING
FIGURES FOR AUGUST Building permits of a value of £54,592 were issued by the Auckland City Council for the month of August. The permits included 26 for new dwellings. For the past eight months building permits of a value of £466,967 have been issued, being £110,172 less than for the corresponding period of 1940. To date this year 214 new dwellings have been built, of an aggregate value of £266.008, compared with 193 dwellings, of a total value of £232,559 for the January-August period last year.
