LADIES AND PATRIOTISM
Your correspondent "One Whs Knows" attacks me for my rerarki in the Mount Eden Borough Ooiadl regarding the Nicholson Park Ladß* Bowling Club. I did not 'lflrtifr I**1** the patriotic aspect into the dinssion, and while I have every raped for those ladies who play bowk ad assist patriotic efforts, I have the opposite for those who eaehte Drake on the green only. I find tin club raised some £21 about 12 "fI**1** ago for a 55 membership in a twoyear war period—less than ldVpcr member per week. Will your cornspondent furnish an address M of its members that it may be determined whether the club is 100 per cent Mount Eden and not inn largely from outsiders, and abte how many members are definitely associated with the Mount Eden Ladies' Branch of the Metropolitan Patriotic Committee? The Borough Council's minutes Aar that on September 26, 1940, die dak was advised that, presumably bee®* of war conditions, it was not proposed to go on with the erection of a pavilion, thus proving my contention that the application was a "try da" for the new council.
