BOXING TOURNEY FOR N.Z. FORCES IN EGYPT

(N.Z.E.F. Official News Service) CAIRO, July 24. For the purpose of selecting a team from the N.Z.E.F.. to meet representatives of the Cnion Defence Force, an elimination boxing tournament was held at one of the principal New Zealand Expeditionary Force camps last evening. A large number of bouts was staged, and the selectors had a good opportunity to Tfeview the talent available for the contest which it is hoped to stage next week. Bouts were limited to three rounds, and as a result the tempo was all that the spectators could desire as with the incentive of being a New Zealand representative, the men put every effort into their fights. Toe-to-toe was almost invariably the order, and a very good spirit prevailed. Results were:— Heavyweight.—First round: Pte. S. J. Tweedle (MS, Bn.), 12.11, and Pte, A. R. McQaffin miv?
