NORTH SHORE BOWLER DOES WELL IN EGYPT
W. J.*McDevitt, the tall North Snore spin bowler, has been a constant source of trouble to batsmen in army matches in Egypt. In two games last month he took six wickets for 35 in 10 overs and five for 27 in 11 overs. In the first case he was playing for a New Zealand XI: against the Royal Army Service Corps, the New Zealanders being beaten in an exciting .finish by six runs, scoring 146 against their opponents' 152 for nine wickets declared.
