Takapuna Makes Good Progress

A pronounced spirit of comradeship marked the smoko held by the Takapuna and District R.S. Club last week, while the large attendance was testimony to the continued progress and increased membership of the organisation. A very enjovable programme was carried through and altogether the evening was what one Digger called it. a "Waitematicnl success." The club is fortunate in

having a very energetic committee and a strong band of workers in the "Thrift" Club. The prediction of the secretary of that committee that the premises occupied by the club would become their own property this year was received with enthusiastic acclamation. Among the honoured guests were Captain Kellaway and Mr. Yameton, who have returned from the Eastern theatre of war. Captain Kellawav gave a very interesting talk on operations in Egypt. Greece and Crete, special honour being given to the naw for their wonderful work in the evacuation of the troops.
