WINS FOR AUCKLAND

ANNUAL TOURNAMENT Both the debating and drama conter-ts were won last night by the Auckland Teachers' Training College in the annual tournament with the Wellington College. Three speakers from each college took part in the debate, "le Racial Mixture in America an Advantage?"' Wellington taking the affirmative. The winning play was entitled "Schieki-I-gruber." in which Hitler was placed among a number of typical London citizens in a ruined street of the city. Upon a comparable situation between the problems of a small family and international problems at the present time was based Wellington's play "Except a Man." The plays were written, produced and enacted by the students. The trophies competed for were the Rae-Lopdell Cup for the drama and the Waghorne Ti ophy for the debate. The tournament wa>» continued to-day. and the Wellington students will return on Monday.
