HEAVY AIR MAILS
LIGHTER PArEK URGED (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Friday. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. C. Webb, stated to-day that the volume of air mail letters for overseas destinations had increased to such an extent that the carrying capacity of the aircraft available was becoming seriously taxed. He therefore requested users of air mail services to restrict the weight of their letters. One way in which this could be done, the Minister suggested, was to use air mail writing paper and envelopes in place of ordinary writing paper. The position was so serious that correspondents using air mails were urged to give heed to this request.
