SPECIAL COURSES

HOME DEFENCE UNITS

NARROW NECK AND TRBXTHAM Courses extending from September 1 to November 28 at the Northern Military District School of instruction, and from September 1 to November 30 at the army school at Trentham, have been arranged for officers and non-commissioned officers of Territorial and National Military Reserve units. The subjects in which instruction is to be given at Narrow Neck include tactics and field training, tank hunting, weapon training, medium machine-guns, and intelligence. Special courses are also to be held for junior officers and young noncommissioned officers. The courses at Trentham cover mechanical transport, light machineguns. medium machine-guns, Bren carriers, transport, cooking, as well as training for engineers. Army Service Corps, signals, artillery, ordnance engineering and medical corps.

In the instructions issued by the Army Department to units it is stressed that attendance at all courses is now compulsory.
