POTATOES STILL FIRM
Cabbage and cauliflower wore in very heavy supply at the City Markets to-day, choice cabbage realising fair price*. Cauliflower was very cheap. Carrots are slightly easier owing to heavy quantities. Parsnips sold at lower values than last week. Potatoes were in heavy supply, but <ne still making high prices. Pair suppiio** or new potatoes u-aliacd very high prices. Green peas were in short supply and rates were very high. The heavy supply of oniona resulted in prices being slightly easie,-. \ cry heavy supplies of kumaras sold at much lower rates than last week. A good demand existed lor hothouse tomatoes and choice lines of tree tomatoes. Sale for New Zealand grapefruit was very slow.
