REDUCED LOAD
WAITEMATA POWER AREA | I Steps taken in the Waitemataj Electric Power Board's area to reduce the load, in order to conserve supply, were referred to at a meeting of the board yesterday after-1 noon. The manager, Mr. A. Main, I said that a request had been made! to the Electricity Controller, Mr. F. T. M. Kissel, that the board's alloca-! tion should be increased. I Mr. Main added that consumers had replied to an appeal by the board to conserve power in a verv fair manner. The board was not responsible for the shortage, and its officials had done everything possible to meet the position and put the facts before the public. If consumers continued to exercise care during the next month, the worst period would be past, and all could look forward to an early return to normal supply conditions.
