LAST YEAR'S SOCCER FINALISTS TO MEET AGAIN TO-MORROW

With a team depleted of many of the prominent players who turned out last season, the Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys XI. will be at a disadvantage when it plays Comrades in (he main Soccer game at Bla.ndford Park on Saturday. The contest will be particularly interesting in view of the two team's strnjrjilcs last year. Comrades was winner of the senior championship, defeating Mount Albert 3 —l in their final meet inc. In tlhe Champion of champions play-off. however, Mount Albert (winner of The Falcon Cup knock-out), beat Comrades 4—2. Twice before had the two teams met during the season—onco in the Chatham Cup, when Comrades was victorious 3 —l, and in the eh amp ion ship scries when Mount Albert equalised ."-all. This season, however. Mount Albert has lost many prominent players. Yeomans, last season's goalkeeper, is serving in the Navy, and Fyvio. the insideleft, is in the Air Force. The full-back, Sims, is also on service with the Air Force; and Needham, ouiside right., is seryiug overseas. Hutchinson, who played senior last year, is turning our acain in the left half position, and I\. Clark, who began his Soccer career with the old Tramurewa team nearly a dozen years ago, will take his ]>laco as centre forward. Comrades has been lucky, and will turn out practically the same team a.s if had last season. Marvin, who played two seasons ago, is now back in harness in the pivotal position. Otherwise the team is unchanged.

The opening frame at headquarters will be between Ponsonby and Air Force, and a keen game should result'.

The remaining three fixtures are: — North Shore v. Metro-Coll£ge. at Devonport; Abel's v. Onehunga. at the Domain: and Eastern Suburbs v. Thistle, at St. Helier'e.
