REQUESTS FOR RUGBY REP. GAMES

Requests for matches against the Auckland Rugby representatives were received at the meeting of the management committee last evening. Waikato, which usually plays home and home games with the city team, beat Auckland last Saturday and it asked that a return match at Eden Park be played on July 19. Bay of Plenty asked for a match in its own area in August or early in September and offered a contribution of £25 towards expenses. Both requests were referred to the match committee. An appeal was received from the chairmen of Groups 2 and 5 In the Fighting Forces Fund for the support of the union and Its clubs In a barrow day, to be held on Friday, June 20. It was agreed that the committee and the referees should provide barrows and that the various clubs be circularised asking for their co-operation.
