In i this time of crisis 1 am certain that such parades can but inspire and encourage all the citizens of the Dominion to play their part to the full in the prosecution of the war to I a victorious conclusion.' , f Commenting on the parade, the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, who was chairman of the committee which organised the civilian units, said that the detailed organisation as carried out by the military authorities was beyond praise. In congratulating all concerned on their fine appearance and marching, Sir Ernest said that the demonstration should dispose finally of the erroneous suggestion that the people of Auckland wore not , war-conscious. The only pity was that the display had not been held I three years ago. I
