ACCUSED REMANDED
(0.C.) KAITAIA, this clay. Arrested at Waipapakauri yesterday by Detective Findlay, of Whangarei, and Sergeant Simister, of Kaitaia, Herbert Leah Paterson, alias Mac Donald, and Hannah Thomas, alias Barbara Muir, appeared in the Kaitaia Police Court to-day. Paterson was charged with attempting to pay hotel board with a valueless cheque, and Thomas with theft at Waihi. Both accused were remanded to appear at Whangarei, where other charges are pending. Mr. J. T. B. Taaffe, J.P., presided.
